Child Custody

Resolving Child Custody Disputes

Child custody comes in many different forms. First, there is physical custody, which addresses where the child lives and the time spent with both parents. Second, there is legal custody, which addresses the parents' rights to make important decisions about schools, medical care and similar issues.

These two forms of custody can be broken down into joint custody and sole custody. Joint custody involves responsibility being shared between the two parents, although not necessarily equally. Sole custody involves responsibility falling entirely on one parent. There is also the issue of child visitation.

Obviously, this can be a very complex issue. At the law firm of Arlene Glenn Simolike, Esq. and Associates, P.C., our attorneys will work closely with you and your child to determine what arrangements are most appropriate in your situation. Then we will work hard seeking to put those arrangements into place.

Child Custody During Divorce

When people think of child custody disputes, they think about divorce. Of course, this is where the majority of child custody issues arise. We will take great care to work with you during your divorce to balance custody with all of the other issues involved.

We can also address post-divorce child custody issues, such as enforcement and modification of arrangements.

Child Custody Outside of Divorce

Child custody issues can arise as part of paternity disputes. Our lawyers can assist unmarried mothers and fathers in creating custody arrangements that meet their needs.

Our services are available to people in Philadelphia and Feasterville, as well as the surrounding parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
