Helping You Seek Social Security Disability Benefits

When an injury or illness prevents a person from working for one year or more, that person may be entitled to receive Social Security disability benefits. These are benefits provided by the government to help people cover the costs of living when they are not able to work. At the law firm of Arlene Glenn Simolike, Esq. and Associates, P.C., we help people get these benefits.

Since 1976, our law firm has been helping members of our community get the benefits to which they are entitled. Our Social Security disability services are available for clients in Philadelphia and Feasterville, as well as the surrounding parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Two Programs: SSD and SSI

The Social Security system provides two benefit programs for disabled persons: Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Social Security Disability is for workers who have contributed to a Social Security account while working for a specified period of time, usually five out of the last ten years. Disabled widows and widowers of Social Security wage earners, as well as disabled children, may also qualify for benefits.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal income supplement program that provides disability benefits for low-income persons not insured through Social Security Disability. It is designed to help disabled adults and disabled children who have little or no income.

You Have Options if Your Claim is Denied

The vast majority of the applications filed are denied the first time. Do not be discouraged. Our attorneys can help. We will request an appeal hearing before an administrative law judge and fight for the benefits you deserve. We believe in the importance of working together with clients and their families as a team. We are committed to helping disabled persons and their families.
